Office managers at BBC Broadcasting House will be having some heated Zoom meetings this week, ahead of possible Government-imposed constraints on workplaces in any easing of the lockdown.

Broadcasting House - at least the brand new bit - is all about hot-desking; many more people call it their office than can possibly fit in altogether on one day. In recent weeks, it's been operating with around 600 people in the building, and they can easily sit with a spare desk in between them. But it would be nigh impossible to mix that with a guarantee that you only sit at one desk for each and every shift with many more back at work. More inter-shift cleaning and swabbing down seems inevitable.
