60 short
What's in a number - and when is it right ? The latest daily figures on UK coronavirus used to be released before the afternoon ministerial news conferences. Yesterday it fell to Boris Johnson to read it out first, and he said the death toll had reached 26,711. Radio 4's PM programme managed to get it right, at 26,771, as did BBC's Ten O'Clock News. ITV's News at Ten, maybe for consistency, stuck with 26,711.
