Now behave

Now Bojo's bouncing back, I hope an early zoom will be with Isaac Levido and Lee Cain. These two seem to regard the daily covid news conferences as something 'to be won', or at least 'not lost'. The tense foreheads of Dominic Raab, Matthew 'Matt' Hancock and Rishi Sunak indicate men trying to stay at the crease, in the style of Barrington and Boycott. Down the order, you can feel sharp intakes of breath from the far side of those double doors, as those lower down the order - Patel, Arger and Sharma - edge balls to the slips, with unforced apologies.

The weekend briefings to Sunday papers show No 10 behaving as badly as ever. Boris was 'close to death', should have been in hospital on the Thursday, had an oxygen tube up his nose, and the Cabinet colleagues who told us he was a fighter and there was nothing to worry about, were actually praying for him.

Stop this now. Answer questions straight - and if we find out there's graphs and stats that you are, or have been, keeping from us, prepare for an election at the end of this.
