When BBC News restarts it review of potential cuts to save £40m, the News Channel is almost certain to be in a better place.
One measure of viewing is the average daily time spent with a channel, measured over four weeks. In the latest BARB figures, up to March 22, BBC1 is up to 41 minutes 3 seconds, from 40.22 the previous month. BBC News' minutes have more than doubled, from 2.29 to 4.29. Sky News is static, at 1.25. BBC Scotland is down from 14 seconds to 12 seconds.
