It's hard to see Times Radio attracting listeners entirely new to speech radio. They must have decided that there's money to be made in carving away current adherents of Today, 5Live, LBC, Talk Radio, Radio Scotland, Radio Wales and Radio Ulster, and 4-odd BBC local radio stations.
Or perhaps, Talk Radio (also owned by News UK) is under review. It's moved out of its current studio, and lost its live video feed - but that's probably because of lockdown. Latest listening figures gave it a weekly reach of 433,000 - up from 302,000 a year ago; a decent enough trajectory.
We're happy to take a small pat on the back for tipping Stig Abell and Aasmah Mir for the Times breakfast slot. They'll run Monday to Thursday. Friday to Saturday sees former Beeboid Luke Jones, 26, paired with Jenny Kleeman.
It seems only yesterday that Luke was running the student radio station at King's College. He now shares an agent, Mary Greenham, with the top names in BBC News presentation. Where next ?
His new co-host, Jenny Kleeman (Westminster School and Queens' College, Cambridge) is a Noel Gay artiste.

er...a pedant writes - it's Queens'college - although even they say it's not really based on numbers of Queens. https://www.queens.cam.ac.uk/visiting-the-college/history/college-facts/that-apostrophe
