Allegro, Allegra

Shrinking violet Allegra Stratton is leaving ITV News for a Civil Service berth with dishy Rishi.

Allegra, 39 (Latymer Upper School and Arch and Anth at Emmanuel, Cambridge) is to be Director of Strategy and Communications at The Treasury (or is it Communications and Strategy, or Strategic Communications ?).

Allegra and hubby James Forsyth, political editor of The Spectator, live in Canonbury, with children Vaughn, 6 and Xanthe, 3. Allegra spent time at Newsnight as both producer and political editor, a post in which she followed Michael Crick.

There's approval at the highest level of government for Allegra in this January 2017 blog post about the referendum campaign by Dominic Cummings ("Two broadcast journalists who were conspicuous by their unusual professionalism and determination to act fairly despite the behaviour of some of their management were Laura K and Allegra Stratton.")
