Good luck to Tim Levell (Alleyn's and Bristol) as the first programme director of Times Radio. Tim's most recently been editor of Emma Barnett and Adrian Chiles' mid morning shows on Radio 5Live, where he works with at least four other producers, a social media producer and presumably some studio staff.
I wonder how many other BBC producers might be tempted to head to the Shard after today's lunchtime announcements. I wonder what sort of staffing levels Times Radio is proposing for a full station.
Tim will presumably commute from home in south Manchester initially. He was previously editor of Blue Peter, itself under continuing budget pressure. Still, Tim has faith.
“It’s been a real pleasure being part of Christians in Media for nine years. It’s such an important ministry and I’ll be praying for, and supporting, you as you look to strengthen and extend it. There are hundreds of Christians working in media who really find what you’re doing so invaluable.”
