Games

Our first ever Prime Ministerial Debate had the look and feel of a game show. Designer Sophie Griffiths gave us a shiny floor and honeycombs of hexagons last seen on Blockbusters.  Most of the carefully-selected audience went home without contributing. The BBC suits all travelled down to Maidstone (previously home to Later..with Jools Holland), but there's no immediate sign that Director of News Fran Unsworth has persuaded Mr Johnson to face Andrew Neil. Mr Johnson's resolve may well have been stiffened by the presence of Dominic Cummings, in theory a man playing no part in the campaign.

Today the Tories release a "Stop arguing" video, with a voice-over sounding like a synthesised Fraser Nelson. "Stop answering questions" could be a more accurate title.
