The BBC says Samira Ahmed's claim that a senior manager told her that the BBC 'doesn't do equal pay' was wrong.
Samira's witness statement in her tribunal against the BBC describes a conversation with a news executive, and said the remark showed she had been 'undervalued by the BBC because I am a woman' and demonstrated that 'equal pay was not being taken seriously'.
HR executive Lisa Tsalavos told the equal pay hearing in London that the alleged comment had been fully investigated by a manager from another department. The news executive was interviewed and produced notes of the meeting with Samira. The finding ? "On balance, Samira's account was inaccurate".
