Batting order

The centre piece of the next Voice of the Listener and Viewer Conference, in ten days' time, will be the effervescent BBC Chairman Sir David Clementi, giving his perspective on key issues facing the Corporation.

By then, the Conservatives will have issued their election manifesto, and, should they still be leading the polls, Sir David will presumably explain in which order the BBC will close BBC Two, BBC Four, the BBC News Channel, the BBC Scotland channel, Radio 5live, and most of BBC Local Radio.

Ray Snoddy will chair the session. Let's hope he's getting more than the Newswatch daily rate.
