To no great surprise, BBC Radio Ulster management have revealed their chosen replacement for Sean Coyle, 72. Stephen Clements, 48, who came to commercial broadcasting in Northern Ireland just over ten years ago - a switch from a job in beer sales - gets the 1030-1200 slot, Mondays to Fridays.
He has worrying celebrity endorsements from Stephen Nolan, Colin Murray, Eamonn Holmes and Jeremy Vine. In his previous job, presenting breakfast on Q Radio, he took calls from Arlene Foster ("Arlene from Fermanagh") and counted Martin McGuinness amongst fans. Sometimes, he got things wrong.
Expect some changes in the Radio Ulster playlist. In the past week, the ten most played tracks included Midnight Train to Georgia from Gladys Knight and the Pips, two from Roy Orbison and two from Bruce Springsteen. This, from The Murphys, topped the list.
