Pinhead

Oh dear. The BBC’s editorial head honcho, David Jordan, has been quite clear in interviews that the Executive Complaints Unit was only able to consider Naga Munchetty's role in the Trump Tweet Breakfast Huddle, because the complainant only mentioned her, and not her co-host that morning, Dan Walker.

Not quite the full picture, David. The Guardian says the original complaint, from a single viewer, described Walker as “very unprofessional” and accused him of “repeatedly expressing incredulity” that anyone could defend Trump over his remarks urging four Democratic congresswomen to “go home”. A second message also referred to Walker, but that too was dismissed at the second hurdle of the BBC complaints procedure (a 47-page spine chiller)

The viewer then went to the ECU to appeal; you're only allowed 1,000 words to make your case, and this time Walker was left out.

Surely, someone blessed with the title Director of Editorial Policy and Standards, on £177k, and with a licence to travel the world sharing his opinions, could feel emboldened to have a word with Walker, whether there had been a complaint or not.
