When the BBC Board next meets, it might consider the 7pm slot on network television. If ever there was a moment to drive frustrated youths to YouTube, this is it. BBC1 offers the increasingly-banal One Show. Over on BBC2, the elderly audience is being cannibalised by re-runs and re-cuts of Baldy Greg being surprised by food processing plants, and "We mend your tat for free" Repair Shop. On commercial channels, you could try Emmerdale, Channel 4 News and odd C5 documentaries; BBC4 offers the male and female clean cut jaws of Christian Fraser and Katty Kay in Beyond 100 Days. I'd rather do homework.
I'm not asking for a re-creation of Janet Street-Porter's DEF Zone, but surely either BBC2 or BBC4 could do something that led rather than followed popular culture ?

Methinks "We mend your tat for free" as a review of The Repair Shop is a bit cheap for you, innit? Tis a fine show and no money changes hands (like most Beeb shows) I'm sure.
