On the 5th of July the BBC announced that Kirsty Young would be leaving Desert Island Discs permanently. Director of Radio & Education, James Purnell said “
"Lauren Laverne has been doing a brilliant job at the helm in Kirsty’s absence and I’m delighted she continues to host one of Radio 4’s most popular shows.”
It continued 'Lauren Laverne will continue to host Desert Island Discs for the foreseeable future as planned.'
Today the Spectator tells us that the new Controller of Radio 4, Mohit Bakaya, is seeking a replacement for Lauren.
