Research into listening trends from RAJAR show that podcasts have a weekly reach of 16% amongst UK adults aged 15+. That's up from 12% a year ago, but podcasts still only take a 4% share of the overall audio market, with live radio on 74%.
In the growth area of voice-activated speakers like Alexa and Google Home, 1% of time is spent with podcasts, whereas live radio accounts for 70%. Anyone guess the percentage of funding James Purnell has diverted from his network radio spend to podcasts ?
