It's a struggle for most tv news operations in August. But toilers on The Nine, BBC Scotland's flagship news hour, will be pleased with a rating of 35,000 (right across the UK) for an edition on 14th August. (That puts it somewhere between the average home gates of Rangers and Aberdeen).
I've tried tracking down the news agenda that might have driven these hordes to their screens, and so far have only found a tale of Scots deprivation.
