Some catching up to do with the BBC Annual Report 2018/19, so let's start at the top.
There's a change in the way big earners are reported which I haven't quite grasped. Before, annual reports and pay disclosures talked about "salaries"; this year the phrase is "remuneration received in 2018/19". Lord Hall is unchanged. Base pay for Tim Davie, CEO of BBC Studios is unchanged. And whatever the headlines say about how the commercial side is doing, his bonus is, at £200k, is £48k down on the previous year.
As far as I can tell, no other moves in the Executive since the adjustments of December 2018.
Topping the list of other senior managers is Piers Wenger, Controller of Drama Commissioning, who moves up from £240k to £245k+. Leading the News list under Fran Unsworth is Editorial Director Kamal Ahmed, who's landed on £205k+. Jonathan Munro, Head of Newsgathering, has nudged up from £166k to £175k+. (The report makes one mention of Sir Cliff Richard and no reference to 'helicopter'). Dale Haddon, HR boss of News and All Employee Relations, has risen from £191k to £205k+.
In Radio & Education, the evergreen Graham Ellis, on £210k+ is joined in the same band by Director, Children's, Alice Webb.
