Sharon White, who's been CEO of Ofcom for just over four years, is joining the John Lewis Partnership as chairman. Her easy payments are expected to rise to around £900k a year, from her current £341k.
Sharon becomes the sixth chair of the partnership, succeeding Sir Charlie Mayfield. She leaves an Ofcom which has become rather too loose on local commercial radio, too keen on counting things at the BBC, and too eager to spread its officious wings over the Interweb and All Its Darknesses.
