A tiny sprinkling of regal dust on the BBC in the Birthday Honours list.
Non-executive director for Wales, Elan Closs Stephens becomes a Dame. John Birt's protege, Samir Shah, of Juniper TV (Makers of This Week) joins the OBE crowd. Brenda Emmanus, Arts Reporter for BBC London, becomes an MBE, as does Shereen Nanjiani, former tv presenter now with Radio Scotland.
There's a knighthood for Stephen Cleobury, bringer of the King's College Christmas Service to the BBC; Captain David Charles Cole, MVO RM (Rt'd) Director of Music, The Royal British Legion, adds OBE to his titles, for tunes at the annual SingaLongaHuw at the Royal Albert Hall: Morris Angel, supplier of period costumes to the BBC and others, moves up to CBE
Dee Ford, Group Managing Director, Bauer Media, becomes a CBE for services to radio. There's also a gong for Phil Maguire, CEO of the Prison Radio Association. Rashid "Rash" Mustapha, a radio engineer at Ofcom, becomes an MBE for work on local DAB transmissions.
Elsewhere, more endorsement for The Crown, with an OBE for executive producer Andy Harries.
