A packed, tiny court room at the Rolls Building yesterday enjoyed a preliminary hearing of the Insolvency Service's case against the trustees of Kids Company. Lawyers for CEO Camilla Batmangelidjh failed to get the case against her dropped - they argued she wasn't part of the charity's 'governance'; Judge Middleton said there would be no separate hearing.
The Insolvency wants six year director bans against Camilla and the Trustees, who've all rejected a compromise voluntary deal with reduced bans. Everything points to a long and expensive trial, maybe in 2020: the Official Receivers' team are said to have 57 files of evidence to consider.
