The Sun believes Zoe Ball has negotiated a salary of £1.2m to present at breakfast on Radio 2 - we won't know if they're right until July next year. The figure compares with Chris Evans' £1.66m-£1.7m. Last year Zoe earned less than £150k p.a. for one show a week on Radio 2; her deal to present Strictly: It Takes Two is with BBC Studios and not subject to disclosure.
I hope Sara Cox has argued for equal pay for her ten weeks' cover for Zoe - that ought to be worth £285,714 and 28p, on top of what she gets for her existing Radio 2 gigs.
Meanwhile Charlie Sloth, Huw Edwards' bessie on Radio 1, is leaving the BBC after ten years. There's no indication of where he's off to - or why. Aged 31, he's earning less than £150k for five shows a week.
