The Times reports that Dundee's own Eddie Mair is still in negotiations with his employer, the BBC about his future rate of pay. This has been going on since November.
Eddie's current package is believed to be £320,000. BBC News would prefer to announce that it's got most star names down to £300,000 for basic presentation roles. We've already been told John Humphrys and Nick Robinson have taken cuts. Mr Mair has no legal obligation to do the same.
