Whither BBC Arts ? Just asking, now that James Purnell is in charge.
There's no sign of another edition of Imagine on the horizon. The latest, by presenter and editor Alan Yentob on Marlon James went out on BBC2 last Saturday - the new destination, we are told, for arts programming. I can't find audience figures. On iPlayer, it is blessed with a BBC1 logo intro, and billed as from "Summer 2016".
Next Saturday, BBC2 offers the Four Nations rubgy league clash between New Zealand and Australia, a repeat of an American civil war film from 1989, "Glory", and a repeat of the 1960 film "Sergeant Rutledge", the tale of the wrongful prosecution of a US Cavalry 'buffalo soldier'.
