BBC DG Lord Hall encounters a new sparring partner when he travels to Wales on Wednesday.
He's to be grilled by the new Culture, Welsh Language and Communications Committee of the Welsh Assembly, part of a process now required by a Memorandum of Understanding. The committee is led by Plaid Cymru's Bethan Jenkins.
Bethan (Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen and University of Wales Aberystwyth) is Plaid's youngest MP, at 34. Today she's given a list of her requirements from the BBC - a Welsh Newsnight, a regular Welsh news bulletin on Radio 2, and fair treatment for BBC Wales Director Rhodri Talfan Davies, who now has to report to Ken MacQuarrie, as Director of Nations & Regions, rather than supping right alongside Lord Hall on the lower tier of BBC Management.
Most importantly, she'll be trying to pin down Tony on "additional funding" promised to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland back in May 2015.
