Johnston Press's big gamble, the i newspaper, goes up by 10p from Monday 12 September, to 50p for the weekday edition. The Saturday edition will also rise by 10p to 60p. At the same time, retailers find their take on the cover price cut from 25% to 24%. There's no change to subscription prices.
Weekday circulation was up 7.7% year on year in August; the acquisition of the 'i' cost £24m. Johnston Press' share price is hovering around 8.2p at time of writing, valuing the whole company at rlund £8.7m.
