Forget Emmy parties and London Fashion Week. The big do of the weekend was Ed Shedd's 50th at the Here Cafe in Berkhamsted.
Ed is Deloitte's digital media guy, and has advised the BBC in the past. Here Cafe is jointly owned by Lisa Opie, new boss of Factual at BBC Studios, where her small business acumen should help the transition to a commercial subsidiary. Her partner is Debbie Manners, CEO of KEO Films. Among the guests, former BBC techno boss Ashley Highfield, now CEO of Johnston Press. They all love the Berko lifestyle, with a little light running, squash and rackets.
Radio 4's Ed Reardon is an entirely fictional resident.
