Just over a year after his election as Chair of the Culture Select Comittee, big Jesse Norman has taken Theresa's Shilling to become a junior minister at the newly-minted Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
The circumspect MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire never publicly backed Remain or Brexit, though is thought to have been a quiet Remainer, like Mrs May. He was overheard at a meeting in Ledbury saying it was too risky to declare his hand - it would have been bitten off by half his constituents whichever way he went.
Now Lord Hall, Rona Fairhead and James Purnell can look forward to a new playmate to pull their hair in the romper rooms of Westminster.
