There's a cuckoo in the DCMS. Remainer Rob Wilson, Minister for the Civil Society and Charities, keeps his job under Theresa May, but moves base from the Cabinet Office in Downing Street to the much-less-glamorous 100 Parliament Street round the corner.
Rob (Wallingford School and Reading University (History)) has been MP for Reading East since 2005. He admits to being an Arsenal supporter ("no point in being a fraud with your constituents") and wakes up to Today on Radio 4 and BBC Radio Berkshire (“it’s a real tussle in the morning which one I listen to most”). Caversham Park, currently-but-not-much-longer home to Radio Berkshire, BBC Monitoring and the BBC Written Archives is on his patch - he's presumably been briefed.
Rob has tweaked the BBC's tail over both Jimmy Savile and alleged bias. He's sported an unconvincing beard for over a year now.
