Congratulations to occasional-BBC-correspondent Allan Little, now in his first full year as chairman of the Edinburgh International Book Festival. He's secured the attendance of former DG Mark Thompson, now CEO of the New York Times, for a session entitled Political Bad Language.
He's also booked BBC security correspondent, Frank Gardner, about to publish the first of three yarns featuring fictional ex-Special Boat Service commando, Luke Carlton, "now under contract to the Secret Intelligence Service for some of its most challenging missions."
The James Naughtie slot is, as ever, filled by James Naughtie.
