Arty

The Times (paywalled) suggests that developers Stanhope are maintaining their pursuit of groovy tenants for their various former BBC buildings in White City.

Stella McCartney is reported to be interested in The Garden House, a rather anonymous low rise block between the larger Media Centre and Broadcast Centre and the White City Estate; it'll take quite a refurb to make that stylish.

The Royal College of Art may become temporary tenants elsewhere on the White City site, as they decant their School of Fine Art operation from Battersea, ahead of a major rebuild there.

Meanwhile, Stanhope's own artistic wing, White Noise, has announced a range of short art projects that will be happening in the East Tower of Television Centre, in the run-up to the final demolition in early August. Sadly, none of the eight successful applicants for a bursary seem to have taken up the Stanhope offer to "creatively destroy" part of the building. Many BBC staff tried before them.
