Platform alteration

A new top job is up for grabs within the newborn BBC Design & Engineering Division. It's called Director of Platform. "This role will lead the design, development and delivery of a pan-BBC integrated content platform providing world-class capabilities to the BBC broadcast and online products, in support of the BBC’s strategic aspiration of becoming an internet-fit organisation."

And "The function will operate as one integrated ‘ecosystem’". So there.

It's at the top grade (Senior Management 1), but apparently also at Level 3, which sounds like some new HR obfuscation to get the number of job groups down.

It may be just me, but the aspiration seems awfully close to the failed Digital Media Intiative....
