In the business-as-usual DCMS, John Whittingdale has appointed five new members to the Gambling Commission. Two of them have the BBC in their CVs - Catherine Seddon, who made documentaries with the likes of Salman Rushdie, Sir John Harvey Jones and many more under the Everyman banner in the 90s; and Simone Pennie, who used to look after the finances of BBC World News. Of the others, only one has declared a donation to the Conservatives in the past five years...
