Here's a rather neat shot of the statue of Helios being removed from the doughnut at Television Centre for a spruce-up earlier this month.
The sculpture, including the fountain below and two reclining figures representing sound and vision, was the work of Aberdeen-born Thomas Bayliss Huxley-Jones, born 1908, who died in 1969. Left, he's in his studio at Broomfield in Essex, working on something for a Chelmsford Park. He appears to have a sticking plaster in his hair.
