The BBC Trust Charter Renewal Campervan parked in Glasgow yesterday, and BBC Director of Strategy and Digital James Purnell was there to offer a new, low-cost sop to the locals - giving BBC Scotland its own distinct digital and online platforms.
This may seem like a breakthrough moment. After all, if BBC3 can still notionally be a channel, when it's a collection of programmes online, why not BBC Scotland ? If BBC Worldwide can knock together a portal for Australia that scares The Guardian, why not do one for BBC Scotland ?
In fact, the idea is so strong, the BBC is already doing it. To the acclaim of almost no-one.
