Some new blurb on BBC News boss James Harding's World Service Radio show, On Background, which starts Saturday 14 November.
"Covering three or four stories in each hour long episode, the series will feature lively discussion which adds light to the heat of the week’s news. The program includes major interviews, discussion and viewpoints from a range of perspectives, data briefings and revisits ‘lost stories’. The programme will also open a door on the editorial thought processes of BBC News and draw on the expertise of BBC journalists around the world, as well as significant political players and engaging and informed commentators relevant to the stories we focus on."
With 31 managers in News paid more than £100k a year, and an overall Senior Management paybill of £10.4m p.a., James can probably afford an hour or two on Fridays to research and pre-record.
