The stand-off between BBC DG Lord Hall and DCMS Select Committee Chair Jesse Norman, over the luvvies' letter which really ought to have come with a BBC letterhead, ended in stalemate.
Lord Hall said the activities of his staff in organising it didn't merit investigation; and suggests he knew all about it in advance: "I was content for the staff of the BBC to make the case for the organisation they are proud to work
for, and also to approach people they know across the industry to do likewise."
Meanwhile Danny Cohen, Noreena Hertz, Simon Schama and J K Rowling have been doing some more letter writing.
