Here's a possible way of easing, at least a little, the forthcoming 1,000 job cuts at the BBC. Of the 90-odd current permanent full-time job vacancies advertised, I estimate 9 are directly associated with output. The rest are either "support" or in the field of technology, engineering and digital, which Lord Hall seeks to bash together. A little recruitment re-evaluation might not go amiss.
