UTV Media has announced five new internal appointments to help it launch four new DAB radio stations next year.
TalkSPORT programme director Liam Fisher (who joined the station more or less straight from Nottingham Trent's broadcast journalism course in 2000) is to be UTV National Radio Controller. His current deputy, Steve Morgan, with a pedigree in Live!TV and Sky Sports News, moves up.
Mike Bovill (UCL and City post-grad), who's been running live sport coverage, becomes managing Editor of TalkSPORT 2.
Laurie Palacio, currently an executive producer on TalkSPORT, becomes Group Executive Editor.
Laurie studied at the French Lycee in London, then Sussex University, before spending four years as a researcher in the House of Commons Library.
Dennie Morris becomes managing editor of the new talkRADIO ('a fresh new speech station for a digital generation spanning news, current affairs and entertainment'). In 2011, Dennie was still at Bedfordshire University, presenting the student led show Brunch from HDTV studios on the Luton campus. One suspects Radio 4 need not be worried.
PS. Yes, they are all white blokes.
