Another new addition to the No 10 team is Mats Persson, Telegraph blogger and co-founder of Open Europe. Open Europe is chaired by Lord Leach of Fairford (Harrow and Balliol), who thinks people are alarmist about global warming.
Mats' first university was Liberty, in Lynchburg, Virginia, home of Jack Daniels. Liberty was founded in 1971 by Jerry Falwell as "a central training ground for the next generation of Champions for Christ". Mats, 6 foot 7 ins, was there on an athletics scholarship, from his home town Bankeryd in Sweden. He was in the Liberty Flames basketball squad in 2004, when Jerry was still there on the front row for most home games, with the crowd chanting "Jer-ry, Jer-ry". He picked up the Christenberry Award for Academic Excellence, but went on to get a proper degree from the LSE.
