Polymath, presenter, pensioner and BBC Creative Director Alan Yentob is on a roll. At the Hay Festival, where Al likes a little wild swimming and the odd boogie, he'll be interviewing Stephen Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders on 22 May, and Sarah Lancashire (Mrs Peter Salmon) and Sally Wainwright, of Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax on 23 May.
On June 5, he's in Soho, discussing and comparing his "creative journey" with Meg and Mog author Judith Kerr.
But the biggie is on June 4, when Al delivers the annual Charles Wheeler Lecture, organised by the British Journalism Review, and sponsored by the BBC. Al will share his thoughts, presumably about phone-hacking and the future of journalism in general, at the University of Westminster’s newly-remodelled Old Cinema. Will he have a Trinity Mirror settlement in his pocket by then ?
