The BBC has broken through the 4 million barrier in stats on Tweets (and re-tweets) per month.

Figures from industry analysts Spike show that in October, there were 4,020,105 Tweets linked to BBC content published during the month. The biggest figures were for news stories - the huge followings of the BBC’s various Twitter accounts generate waves of re-tweets.
