Bonfire Night brought fireworks inside and outside Broadcasting House. Toilers at BBC Online News terminals have been left fizzing at James Harding's latest appointments, with little advancement for managers with web news in their DNA.
Maybe it'll turn out alright in the end. Whilst rip-raps and whizz-bangs were going off in London, BBC News Online Editor Steve Herrman was at Stanford University, California, giving a public lecture on how technology will change news. Presumably BBC Director of News James Harding was in the audience.
