Goombah

Yorkshire-Italian Marco Pierre White is bringing his take on New York Italian to Salford. The restaurant in the Peel-owned and operated Holiday Inn at MediaCityUK is being refurbished and should re-open under franchise in October with 165 covers.

There are already versions of the same franchise at Hiltons in Hoylake, Exeter and Sheffield. If prices stay roughly the same, bread (for two) is £3.50; a Pizza Margherita £7.50; 8oz sirloin and chips £19.95 (three quid extra for a fancy sauce). Cheapest red is £14.95, rising to £49 for an Amarone della Valpolicella Classico.
