Generally speaking, BBC Director of Communications John Shield has settled in well to the post since joining in November last year. He's even allowed himself the odd chuckle - like this response to Lucy Adams' revelation that her BBC emails to staff were crap: “Whether Lucy Adams’ old staff emails were the first word in brilliance is now a matter for the connoisseurs of BBC history.”
But I suspect his subbing pen should have a go at the intro of a new, irony-free advert for Press Officer.
"The BBC Press Office is the epicentre of media management for the whole corporation in the UK and across the world. We provide a gold standard service in managing corporate announcements and reputational issues. A streamlined team, we have links in to every part of the BBC and as such we are often the first to spot, manage and engage with a story."
