Roger Wright is barely out of the door at Radio 3 and the Proms. The new Director of Music, Bob Shennan, internationally-renowned expert on country music and Glastonbury intimate of Coldplay's globally acclaimed Chris Martin, announces a new season for the BBC Philharmonic, featuring the wonderfully diverse Culture Club and Clean Bandit.

A little bird mentioned the ambitions of Edwina Wolstencroft, @loveradio3 on Twitter, who runs the Radio 3 outpost at Salford Quays, after joining the BBC as a studio manager. She's also musical director of the Middlewich Concert Orchestra, which must count for something...
