A survey of indie producers carried out by market researchers SPA Future Thinking finds that 69% said meetings with the BBC had been cancelled with unreasonably short notice. And 29% had waited over a month for a reply to an email from tv commissioning teams.
Danny Cohen says the BBC is developing an app called Pitch which should help. Presumably if the tv departments can agree on how it should work, which they couldn't do with DMI ....
Others might say a little bit of discipline from the top might sort this faster. After all, if BBC Production is spun off to Worldwide, commissioning and a little light scheduling is the only thing a Director of Television will have left to run.
