Piers Morgan's last weeknight chat show on CNN brought home 244,000 viewers in our hero's preferred demographic, US citizens aged 25 to 54. That placed him equal first amongst cable news channels, tying with Megyn Kelly on Fox News, and way ahead of Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, with 183,000.
Across all ages, Megyn surges ahead, with 1,647,000, and Maddow, on 783,000 is ahead of Piers, on 649,000.
Michael Smerconish is getting a week long run in Piers' 9pm slot this week - kicking off last night with more on the missing Malaysian airliner, which has propelled Mr Morgan up the the ratings in his final shows.
