Never mind £12,000 sofas. The BBC's Information Policy and Compliance team cost £682,000 to run in the last full year (2012/13), and, despite staff cuts, other costs, such as accommodation have risen, so that halfway through 2013/14 it's racked up £459,000.
And, between April 2010 and December 2013, £168,900 has been spent on legal support and barristers to fight cases revolving around Freedom of Information legislation.
