Butch

Excellent news for BBC local radio boss David Holdsworth in his mission to deliver 50% representation for women at breakfast microphones. Radio Today reports that James Whale, 62, male, will be taking over the breakfast shift at BBC Essex from February next year. Ray Clark, age unknown, but I'm guessing a tad older than Whale, male, is moving to a daytime slot.

At least it'll mean Whale's out of doing the morning newspapers with Eamonn Holmes on Sky, which is always toe-curling (on both sides).
