Only seven more episodes of I Love My Country for Charlotte Moore and her schedulers to sneak out on an unsuspecting public. Uncomfortable from the moment Gabby Logan did the female equivalent of dad-dancing in the opening shots, it looked as if other participants had been at their mum's slimming pills, producing goggle-eyed hyper-enthusiasm for woeful "games". If it survives on Saturday evenings, that takes us to 21st September. With 3m audience for the first show, it won't ever air at 7.30pm again.
Producers Avalon must have thought they'd got diversity covered in the guest list - Yorkshire, Birmingham, a cockney and ethnic minorities covered; Tom Ellis claimed to be Welsh. It's unfortunately clear throughout that the country they're faux-patriotic about is England. I can assure them once the BBC "nations" wake up to this farrago, they'll get it in the neck, 13 months away from a referendum. They used to shout at 5Live for calling their traffic reports "national".
Oh, hang on - there's the logo for BBC Scotland in the end credits, with Alan Tyler as Executive Producer.
